Randy Appel
Received his Ph.D. from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He has been in charge of the AWADE program since it was created in 2017. His research primarily focuses on L2 English academic writing by way of corpus analyses.
John M. Gayed
Received his Ph.D from the Tokyo Institute of Technology researching AI writing aids and their impact on L2 learners. He is currently an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator at the Global Education Center, Waseda University. His research in CALL primarily focuses on L2 writing production and assessment.
Joe Vitta
Joseph P. Vitta is an Associate Professor at Waseda University’s GEC where he helps to coordinate the AWADE program. He holds a doctorate in TESOL from Queen’s University Belfast. His research involves how language learners acquire and process vocabulary, with a focus on lexical sophistication, learner corpora, and academic production.
